Banana Split Pops
These banana split pops are so easy & delicious. You’ve probably already made these before but you should go ahead and make them again!
I made these for dessert last night when my family came over. I didn’t have a planned dessert (and I have a teenage brother so desserts are a MUST after a family dinner!) so I needed something quick & easy… I just halved some bananas, stuck them on sticks and dipped them in chocolate… A few toppings later, I had some delicious banana split pops!
Ingredients:
– bananas cut in half (each banana makes 2 pops- I made 6 pops)
– Popsicle sticks
-dark chocolate or vegan chocolate chips (I used a little more than 1/2 the bag)
– chopped nuts (I wanted peanuts but I didn’t have any so I used raw almonds)
– maraschino cherries
Other great ideas:
– vegan sprinkles
– shredded coconut
– cookie crumbs
– etc….
– vegan caramel sauce drizzled over the top
– peanut butter drizzled over the top
-topped with coconut whipped cream
– served with- soy, almond, or coconut ice cream
(But hey, these pops are perfect on their own!)
Directions:
– cut bananas in half and put the stick through the center.
– put a sheet of parchment paper over a plate or tray that can fit into your freezer.
-Melt chocolate in the microwave in increments of 15 seconds, stirring each time, until melty and drippy.
– dip bananas into chocolate using a spoon to cover the banana
– before the chocolate dries, top with cherries, nuts, sprinkles, etc and drizzle with caramel, peanut butter or whatever you have on hand
– place pops in the freezer for 1-2 hours or longer until ready to serve.
These are great served at cook outs or for summer desserts!
