Bisquick & 7Up Biscuits
Easy & tastes like a Popeyes biscuit- pretty much.
These are pretty serious so don’t make them on a regular basis – unless you are TRYING to gain some weight!
Saw the recipe on Pinterest or Facebook & veganized it.
Ingredients:
-4 c bisquick (+ some to roll out with)
-1c sprite
-1 c vegan sour cream- such as Tofutti
-1/3 c-1/2 c melted, vegan butter
Directions:
– preheat oven to 425 degrees
– pour the melted butter onto a pan (I put parchment paper on mine first) and set aside.
– put the first 3 ingredients into a bowl & mix to combine. (Add more bisquick as necessary to make the dough not quite as sticky- so you can roll it out to cut your biscuits. OR you could just drop them on the pan in heaping tablespoons instead.)
-put some flour or bisquick onto the counter or table and roll dough to about 1 1/4 inches thick then use a cookie cutter or biscuit cutter to get your biscuits. Repeat until all the dough is used. You could even use a knife and cut square biscuits- they spread out a little on the pan & touch each other)
– place into pan, an inch apart, and bake for about 20 mins or until golden on top.
-Top with your favorite preserves, sourgum syrup, agave, or gravy.
These are great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner & would be super special with some chives and Daiya vegan cheese or cinnamon & raisins.
